The Challenges Within Healthcare
As a practicing pediatrician, I have seen how the healthcare ecosystem can place quiet pressure on doctors. Large hospitals may approach doctors for patient admissions. Pharmaceutical representatives may promote newer or more expensive medicines even when a simpler, more affordable option may be sufficient.
These are not always easy battles to fight as an individual doctor, because the system is large, commercial, and deeply established.
Choosing a Different Battle
But food for children felt different.
This was one area where I felt I could still do something meaningful. I may not be able to change every part of the healthcare or food ecosystem. I may not be able to correct every misleading label, every exaggerated claim, or every product that puts marketing before value. But I could begin with one honest product.
